Tangalooma Island

Moreton Bay is home to approximately 600 bottlenose dolphins and each evening as the sun begins to set across the water, a small pod makes their way to the shores of Tangalooma Island Resort. Since 1992, resort guests have had the opportunity to hand feed the dolphins as part of the Tangalooma wild dolphin feeding program.

Currently up to 11 dolphins frequent the shores of Tangalooma, hunting, surfing and playing with fellow pod members. The jetty at Tangalooma is the perfect platform for viewing and observing these wild dolphins as they continuously entertain all with their inquisitive antics. A dedicated Dolphin Care Team records the dolphins’ behaviour each evening, monitoring growth, behaviour and interactions.

Great Barrier Reef

There are a great variety of tours out to the reef, with something to suit every level of daring and experience. Consider snorkelling, learn to dive or see the reef without getting wet on a glass-bottomed boat. You can also take a day tour to the 6,000-year old coral cay of Green Island. Snorkel alongside brilliant tropical fish, and explore the island’s white beaches and lush rainforest. Visit Michaelmas Cay, home to thousands of nesting seabirds, a myriad of colourful corals, giant clams and reef fish. Sail past palm-topped islands to Upolu Cay – a small sand island atop a skeleton of coral reef.
Travel to the Outer Reef on a multi-storey pontoon or explore it on an introductory dive trip. Discover the vibrant coral gardens, marine life and turtle sanctuaries with an experienced instructor.

Daintree Rainforest / River

The Daintree River runs through the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest, one of the oldest tropical stretches of rainforest in the world. Cruise along the winding waterways of the Daintree River and look out for saltwater crocodiles. You can also experience the natural wonders of Daintree at sunset, a prime time for wildlife watching. As you glide through the mangroves, admire unique plant and wildflower varieties, and spot many different species of birds and butterflies.
